- Voice announcements and guidance - Helpful announcements on any upcoming turn as the car approaches it, along with guidance for curves and driving lanes.
- Map and positional updating - Even temporarily out of the GPS satellites range as when blocked by a tall building, a gyro sensor and auto speed pulse will accurately correlate the cars travel with the onscreen map display.
- Auto rerouting - Diverting from a recommended route accidentally or on purpose will call up a new alternate route instantly with high-speed processing.
- Intersection zooming - The AVN display automatically splits as an intersection is approached where a turn is essential, showing a zoomed version with distance remaining to the next turn and various other cues as well as the regular display.
- Freeway interchanges - The AVN6000s easy-to-see graphics simplify the most complex interchanges and correct lane displays.
- Freeway exit displays - No worries about missing the right exit because the AVN6000s advanced graphics make it easy to see the right exit, its name and related useful information.

- POI icon displays - Useful POI icons such as petrol stations, ATMs and restaurants can be displayed onscreen categorised by type. Some POI icons can even be shown simultaneously.
- Route Trace - The new route trace function works to create "footprints of the cars travel over unmapped areas. This allows you to easily trace your tracks back to where your travel originated.
- Time Zone - The AVN6000 provides easy adjustment for differences in time zones encountered when the car is travelling. Correcting for Daylight Savings Time requires just a finger push.
- Split screen function - The display can conveniently split into two windows. This makes it easy to see important guidance such as the upcoming intersection with the correct turn indicated, or a view of the next 3 intersections with the turns indicated, or even one view at different scales. There is also an option to adjust each displays scale.
- Versatile zooming - Map scale can be quickly controlled by shifting magnification values. Seamless zooming is broader, covering 50 m to 400 km for maximum flexibility.
